APPLICATION PROCESS

Application Form

  • Download the Admissions Form, fill it out and attach the supporting paperwork detailed on the last page.
  • Download the Recommendation Form and send it to the school your children currently attend. When completed, ask the school to send it directly to  admissions@interamericano.edu.gt

Admission Evaluation

  • The Admissions Department will schedule the evaluation (Kindergarten to Grade 12). If space is available in the corresponding grade, the Admissions Department will schedule the evaluation. 
  • There is a specific date every year for Pre-Kindergarten admissions evaluation. For Preschool and PreKinder the Admissions Department will let you know the specific date for the evaluation.

Final Decision

  • The Admissions Department will contact the parents to let them know if the applicant is accepted or not. This decision is final. The Admissions Department will share with the parents or legal guardians of the applicant the Admissions Committee final decision 
  • If the applicant is accepted, you will receive important information for enrollment.

Foreign students applying must complete the following additional steps to achieve international validation of their transcripts and paperwork
PROCESS FOR STUDENTS CURRENTLY STUDYING ABROAD WHO WANT TO REGISTER IN THE GUATEMALAN PROGRAM

1. Request Academic certificate in current school a. At the current school, request a certification or transcript of grades obtained during the years studied there. This certificate must be signed by the Principal or General Director and have the official school stamp.

2. Ministry or Department of Education a. Take this transcript to the local Ministry or Department of Education of the country where the school is located for legalization.

3. Original Birth Certificate a. If the student was born in the country you currently live in, obtain an original birth certificate.

4. Guatemalan Consulate a. Take the legalized transcript and birth certificate to the appropriate Consulate of Guatemala for authentication.

5. Once you arrive in Guatemala a. Take the previously legalized and authenticated documents to the Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores and then to the Ministerio de Educación. Colegio Interamericano will provide you with detailed information at the Office of Admissions or at the Technical Director’s office.
