Counseling

WHAT DO COUNSELORS DO AT INTER?

  • Provide support for students, teachers, administrators, and parents.
  • Care for the social emotional growth and development of all students.
  • Provide individual and small-group counseling for our students.
  • Support the vice principal with students who have disciplinary concerns by behavior reflection sessions.
  • Plan and coordinate the Character Education Program based on the SIX PILLARS OF CHARACTER.
  • Plan and teach the Second Step Program based on four social skills and one in prevention (empathy, impulse control, problem solving, anger management, and bully prevention).

The Counseling Program is the starting point in the referral process for teachers who identify a concern with their student (social, emotional, or academic).

Inter’s Counseling Program focuses on providing a comprehensive, developmental platform addressing all of our students’ academic, career, college counseling and social-emotional development. Our school counselors strive to empower students to maximize their potential and academic achievement.
